Introduction

Welcome. I am an independent, licensed, health and life insurance agent. I have a passion for helping others protect themselves and their loved ones from unnecessary financial burdens.

This passion was born out of personal experience, as my children's father passed away just two months after his life insurance policies lapsed. With two minor children still at home and two young adult children, life would have been much easier on everyone with the $375,000 those policies would have provided. Our children all work now and most have some college education, but it has been (and continues to be) challenging. Fortunately, my brother-in-law was able to pay for final expenses which was a huge help. Not everyone is so fortunate.

A few years ago I entered the life insurance industry and have immersed myself in this subject ever since.  Working with clients, talking to people from all walks of life, and continually studying has made me keenly aware of how little people actually know about life insurance, estate planning, cash accumulation, retirement, and other financial topics; hence the birth of this blog. Here I will share information, stories, helpful resources, and anything else that comes across my path or my mind of financial importance that may benefit others.

Some upcoming articles will answer questions like: Who needs life insurance? When should I get it? What type should I get? What's the difference between whole life, term and universal? Should I insure my children? Should I put them on my insurance or should they have their own? What's the best kind of policy to get for my children? What happens if I lie on my application? Do I have to have a medical exam to get life insurance? I have life insurance through work, isn't that enough? What if I was already declined for health reasons (diabetes, HIV, congestive heart failure, cancer, etc.), can I still get coverage? Can I use life insurance to pay for my children/grandchildren's college? Is life insurance really a good way to build a retirement income for myself or my children? Can life insurance help me while I'm alive? How much do I need? What kinds of riders are available and how could they benefit me and my family? How much does life insurance cost? Can life insurance help me pay off my mortgage early? What happens to my house if I still owe on it and I die? Why is whole life so much more expensive than term?

As far-reaching as this subject is and as vital as it is to understand, the list of questions could go on and on. But don't get overwhelmed. I'll answer them all in everyday language you will easily understand and will do so one small article at a time. I'm new to the blogging world so the format will probably be changing and enhancements will be added as I learn my way around this new platform. Thank you for for your patience and for visiting. I welcome you and any comments, questions, or suggestions you may have.
